2019-2020 Excursions

“…and lo, I am with you always even to the end of the age. Amen.” Matthew 28:20b

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:6

“Whoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.” Acts 2:21

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation…” Romans 1:16a

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18

Between September, 2019 and September, 2020 – four gospel excursions were held – three to the northeast United States and one to Jamaica.  Here is some more detail about each excursion:

  • Hudson Valley, NY and NYC – September, 2019. Seven men went on the excursion and distributed over 4,000 gospels of John and over 15,000 gospel tracts. There were numerous one-on-one opportunities to share and several prayed to receive Christ and numerous others turned back to the Lord and/or received a cup of cold water in a parched land.  The Lord’s presence was extraordinary – every step of the way including in restaurants, hotels, and other venues.  Much was learned and observed for future excursions.
  • Montego Bay Region of Jamaica – February, 2020. Three men distributed over 1,000 gospels of John and over 10,000 gospel tracts. In addition, many watched the Jesus film and there were numerous one-on-one gospel sharing, disciple making opportunities.  There seemed to be a tremendous hunger to receive the Word of God.  Some individuals did pray to receive Christ.
  • New England (Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and NYC) – June, 2020. Ten men distributed over 7,500 gospels of John and over 35,000 gospel tracts in numerous cities and towns of New England. Due to Covid-19 there were not as many opportunities to share one-on-one through prolonged conversations.  Regardless, there was a sense from the Holy Spirit that we were in the right place at the right time – both for strategic prayer and for proclaiming.  Some individuals did pray to receive Christ.
  • NY, NJ, PA, CT, DC – September, 2020. Nine men had an extraordinary time sharing the gospel in cities and towns in the greater NYC metropolitan area – places like Patterson, NJ, New Rochelle, NY, Stamford, CT, Jersey City, NJ, Nyack, NY, White Plains, NY, Hoboken, NJ, Jackson Heights – Queens, NY, Paramus, NJ, New City, NY, and many other locations. Nearly 5,000 gospels of John and over 35,000 gospel tracts were distributed.  Each of the men had numerous positive encounters in one-on-one conversations with individuals.  It seemed that people were out for the first time in a measure of normalcy since Covid-19 and they were looking for human contact and hungry for hope.  Some prayed to receive Christ and many were pointed in the right direction – young and old and from dozens of ethnic and nationality backgrounds.  The Lord really heard and answered the prayers of hundreds of God’s people who prayed for the trip.  The end of the trip included participation in the two events in Washington, DC – the prayer march by Franklin Graham & the Return held by Jonathan Cahn.

Each of these trips have been educational on many levels.  First, is the need for fellowship with the Lord and with each other, steadfast prayer together, encouragement in the Word and in worship, learning to know the Spirit’s leading, and a fervent desire to be a disciple and see others become disciples beginning with their new birth.

Here are some of the testimonies of those who have been on a gospel excursion:

  • The Lord’s anointing was upon us to proclaim the Gospel
  • There was a palpable provision of joy, peace, and boldness
  • I found myself almost constantly having a song to the Lord – dozens came to my heart and many of these came through my lips throughout the trip (it truly qualified as a joyful noise!)
  • There was almost always clarity on what to do next, there was no stress or anxiety regarding the plans
  • There was supernatural unity and humility among the team
  • There was great flexibility to change directions – something that occurred every day
  • There was nearly always a surprisingly positive receptiveness on the part of those we encountered
  • We were able to stay focused throughout the trip
  • There were many, many Divine Appointments – especially one on one encounters
  • The Lord gave us all a sense of humor throughout the trip
  • There was a real sense of our delivering good news to multitudes who were lost
  • There was a remarkable sense of freedom to share Christ in nearly every situation (every restaurant, rest stop, gas station, grocery store, hotel, etc.)
  • We had supernatural strength that carried us through what was a fatiguing schedule
  • We had great personal fellowship with each other
  • Our health held up
  • Each of us typically walked 5 to 8 miles per day or more, slept well, and got up energized and encouraged to do it again.
  • There was an overwhelming sense that we truly were sharing GOOD NEWS!
  • Clearly God answered the prayers of many dear brothers and sisters in Christ!
