A Letter Sent by an Excursion Leader asking for others to join the effort in light of the present situation in America and the times in which we live…
Dear Brothers in Christ:
It is abundantly obvious our nation is teetering – barely hanging in the balance. In a relatively short-time, we might not even recognize our nation. The situation calls for importunate prayer, steadfast prayer, agonizing prayer, real intercession, and many who boldly proclaim the uncompromising truth of the full gospel.
Tragically, the Church is largely in a Laodicean condition – rather than being alive to God and the pillar and ground of the Truth (1 Tim 3:15). Even more tragic a significant portion is apostate. May the Lord spare us from what we deserve.
As a nation, we have murdered 63 million unborn, redefined marriage contrary to the eternal will and purpose and design of God, lived in greed and lust and hatred, made the huge mistake of seeking to divide the land of Israel, and so much more. The fruit of this is so evident – sin everywhere, division in more ways than one can count and judgment unfolding in ever increasing ways. Meanwhile most of the church continues with its routine mostly going through the motions of an outward form of “Christianity.” Frequently, the final word of the Lord Jesus to the Church in Revelation was repent. May we heed that call.
The same God who turned Nineveh stands ready to turn us to Himself. Also, the same God who judged the world in Noah’s Day will not allow this wickedness to go on forever. Our God is just and if Sodom, Gomorrah, and the world in Noah’s day was judged, the same holds true for us. Thank God – mercy triumphs over judgment. He wants to snatch many out of the kingdom of darkness and translate them into the kingdom of the Son of His love – demonstrating His grace, mercy, and compassion.
There are many real servants of God who have spoken about the need at the present hour. Many of them already are in glory. Their names should be familiar – Billy Graham, Leonard Ravenhill, Lance Lambert, Adrian Rogers, David Wilkerson, Derek Prince, David Pawson, John Saunders, and more. Some remain on the earth – Stephen Kaung, Malcolm Hedding, Carter Conlon, Dana Congdon, Chuck Cohen, Bruce Assaf, Al Whittinghill, and more. Also, there are other men of whom we must be familiar – Daniel, Moses, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Obadiah, Amos, Joel, Zechariah, Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter, Paul, Jude, and so many more. There words speak to the times in which we live.
In short, we must be like the sons of Issachar who understand the times and knew what to do (1 Chronicles 12).
May we all be living sacrifices (Romans 12:1-2). May we, as Tozer said, no longer see this world as a playground but as a battle ground and may we arise and shine for the light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon us. May we see the greatest awakening and greatest revival in our nation’s history. May the final chapter in America’s history be written in accordance with the Lord’s purpose and destiny for a nation greatly used of God for the past 2 1/2 centuries. May we also align solely with the Lord and not dream of days gone by or a “Christianized” Americana made in some compromised image containing a watered down evanjellyfish gospel (I credit Major Ian Thomas for this verbiage) -largely outward but essentially with the Lord outside knocking on the door. For the last 3 to 6 decades we have seen where this has led – it is unfolding before our very eyes.
Praise the Lord – it says in Psalm 46 – concerning the City of God – God will help her, just at the break of dawn. At the darkest hour, when we hope against hope – the Holy Spirit can come in and turn the tide for His glory. His glory – not American glory, not political party glory, not the glory of man or movements or revolutions – but His glory – where HIS NAME alone is known across this land and where the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
May we all run well to the end.
